WHAT TO RECYCLE?

Sanford, ME     Bags What to Throw  |  What to Recycle  |  Program Background  |  FAQs

Please be sure to that the container(s) that you set out are sturdy and secured to prevent tipping, spilling, and blowing of recyclable materials. Collection agents are not responsible for gathering spilled or wind-blown materials.

The more you recycle, the less trash you have to put into the PAYT bags, and the more money you’ll save.

The following lists those items that may be placed in the red recycling container or a container (up to 32 gallons) bearing the red “Sanford Recycles” sticker.  Free stickers are available at the Transfer Station, Public Works Office, or the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.  Recycling may be loose within the designated containers.  Remember, the more you recycle, the more you save, because recycling is free in the City of Sanford.
