Trash Collection Rules and Guidelines

All regular household trash should be bagged only in the City-approved trash bags before being placed out for collection. Items not in city-approved bags will NOT be collected or accepted. No exceptions will be made.

Do not place the following items in the city-approved bags:

Recyclable plastic, glass, or metal
Yard waste
Dirt, sod, concrete, or rock
Construction/demolition debris
Household hazardous waste
Hot ashes or flammable materials such as oil, gas, or paint

Certain items such as hazardous waste, medications, mattresses, furniture, chemicals, construction materials, etc. cannot be disposed of in the regular trash or through curbside recycling. For information on how to dispose of these items, click here.
